A trip to Sonic...

My grandmother used to keep a little notebook of all funny things my brother said or did when he was little. I've realized this is my version of that. Emily's quick wit showed again this week on an outing with Jeff. To set the scene, I was out of town at a conference, and Jeff and Emily were on their way to watch a friend's son play football one evening. Jeff turns the truck into Sonic.

Emily: Daddy, we're gonna get ice cream?

Jeff: No, we're not getting ice cream today.

Emily: Then what are we doing here???

As you can tell, we have taught Em at an early age about the finer things in life and where they come from. Ice cream and milk shakes come from Sonic. Who knew they had chicken and fries too!
