LIfe's Little Milestones

It has been so amazing to watch our little toddler become a little person over the last few months, but it seems that just recently she has really "grown up."

Some of you know that  we took the casual approach to potty training; we started very early and didn't press the issue too much. But for the last few weeks, we have finally been able to say "WE are potty-trained!" Hooray!! I no longer have to do laundry every night to make sure we have enough panties for the next day (granted - part of that was my fault for being too cheap to buy enough in the first place!). Last night she even got out of bed and took herself to potty without even calling for us. This was before she ever fell asleep - and she did need help getting her diaper back on - and I would have praised her lavishly had she not gotten out of bed 3 times already for no reason!

Other milestones reached lately include using a "big" (salad) fork and spitting out her toothpaste. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it has put an end to a daily fight about which toothpaste she was going to use. She always wanted the grownups', but we didn't want her swallowing it.  And... she's learning the MSU fight song. I have to sing it multiple times every night. If we're at a game and the band strikes it up, she drops everything (or in Saturday's case - wakes up!), reaches for her pom poms, and goes to town! I came home from studying Sunday and her daddy had taught her to make M-S-U with her arms and they were doing partner stunts!!

Sunday after cheer practice we did something else all kids must do. We taught her how to play in the leaves. She had a blast - as evidenced in the pics.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
